International Jazz Day

International Jazz Day is 30 April. Lots of places to enjoy good jazz once lockdown is over. The obvious places are in the USA – New Orleans and Chicago have some fab jazz clubs, with loads of good atmosphere. But did you know that Cape Town has been designated as the 2020 International Jazz Day Host City? Cape Town’s annual International Jazz Festival, begun in 2000, has rendered the city a world class jazz destination.

Other cities that are great for jazz fans. Paris was the the capital of the Jazz Age back in the early 20th Century and still has some cool clubs. Montreal also has the largest Jazz Festival in the world. Amsterdam has weekly jazz concerts. Havana is well known for music, but with its own Afro-Cuban jazz fusion. The Jazz Festival in Montreux is the second largest festival in the world.
