Where to travel in 2018?

Countries affected by terrorism in recent years are starting to attract travellers once again, according to figures out from Thomas Cook.  Egypt and Turkey saw a drop in traveller numbers over the past few years, but are now experiencing a surge.  Tunisia is once again open to UK travellers this summer and again is proving popular.

Growth to Turkey is being mainly driven by families on all-inclusive holiday packages.  We also have hotels on other board packages and villas on sale in Turkey.

Egypt, again, is popular with families – temperatures in the school summer holidays can reach the high 30s Celsius.  It’s often seen as a great holiday spot for times other than August as a result!

Travel to both Egypt and Turkey has been popular this year due to the great value these destinations offer.  Security is obviously an issue but travellers seem to be safer at the moment. We’ve had terror attacks in the UK – please always follow the FCO advice when travelling.

Spain, with its islands is Thomas Cook’s second best seller.  I’d echo this as well with Diamond Travel’s bookings.  Lots of bookings to Spanish hotels and villas throughout the country this year.

Their 5 top destinations are

  • Spain
  • Greece
  • Turkey
  • The USA
  • Caribbean

Some great deals are available for all seasons to these destinations.   Just call or email for more information.  We book with Thomas Cook but also with over 250 other travel suppliers.  Great choices for your holidays!
