This week I’ve done some training on weddings and honeymoons. There are some great where you can get married around the world – whether you want a beach in the Caribbean or a lemon grove on the shores of Lake Garda or a number of other options. Many of these destinations also offer Renewal of Vows ceremonies – great if you’re celebrating a notable anniversary.
So where should you honeymoon? Brides.com have published recently their 50 top honeymoon destinations. At the top of their list (bear in mind, this is an American list) is the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Hitched.co.uk has a more British perspective and has Bali at the top of their list! The next destination on their list is the Greek Islands – there are some romantic islands like Santorini you could choose from or go for a party island like Rhodes. The Maldives is a very popular choice – what’s more romantic than a desert island! If you prefer a city break, then Venice is not just a cliched destination, there are some gems away from the crowds. Both lists have Caribbean islands – again you could go for a party destination or find a quiet corner, like the small island of Nevis.
What should you look for when booking a honeymoon? It’s the holiday of a lifetime – OK you may have other “holidays of a lifetime” later in life, but at this stage, this is a really important time for you and your new spouse. It will provide memories for the start of your new life together and will set the tone for your future – so no pressure!!
