Barbados Tourism training. I went to Pennyhill Park Hotel yesterday evening to refresh my Barbados knowledge. Always a great destination – for families and couples alike. It might be the preferred holiday destination of the rich and famous, but is still affordable for those of us without Simon Cowell’s credit card.
So what did I learn last night? It’s a great place for watersports – many hotels offer free watersports. If you like horseracing, then the Mango Bay Hotel would be a good place for you to stay. The owner has a box at the racecourse and you might be able to join a party there. The Amaryllis Beach Hotel has won awards for the quality of its wheelchair accessible rooms.
The months of March, April and May are when turtles are nesting on the beach and October is when they hatch – often on beaches frequented by visitors, so you can see the spectacle of the baby turtles heading for the sea. When we were last in Barbados a few years ago, the highlight of the holiday was the trip by catamaran, to swim and snorkel with the turtles. Make sure this is part of your next trip, it will certainly be part of ours!
The island is only the size of the Isle of Wight, but with better weather!!
So what are you waiting for – give me a call to book your next holiday in paradise.
