Music Cities USA tour

I did an escorted tour in 2017 and it was excellent.  We started in Detroit with Motown Studios, followed by a Blues Festival in Chicago. Then a visit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland – this was fascinating and in a beautiful building on the shores of Lake Erie.   We went south after this to Nashville with a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and RCA Studio B where so many iconic songs were recorded plus a bar crawl on Broadway listening to fantastic music.  Memphis followed with a stay at the Guesthouse at Graceland and a tour of Elvis’ home.  We also visited Sun Studios where Elvis first recorded, its still a working studio today.  Of course, we  had to spend an evening on Beale Street, with incredible music in every bar. We finished the music in New Orleans – you can find live music here everywhere. We visited BB King’s Museum in Indianola, Mississippi – a fascinating look at his life and times.  There was more on the tour including a brief tour of various Civil Rights locations such as Montgomery before we finished in Atlanta with tours relevant to Martin Luther King.  On a subsequent visit, we also visited the Stax Museum in Memphis which was a fascinating look at soul music.
